Mr Jim Clarke
EU Strategic Liaison Manager Telecommunications Software and Systems Group
Mr. James Clarke is the EU Strategic Liaison manager at the Telecommunications Software and Systems Group of Waterford Institute of Technology in Ireland. Mr. Clarke has been involved in international cooperation between the EU and India for over the last ten years.
He has been active in India as Chair of a Working Group on Future Internet and networked media in the EU-India Spirit project from 2009 – 2012. From 2011 – 2013, Mr. Clarke was the project coordinator of a European Framework Program 7 Co-ordination action entitled BIC, which stands for Building International Cooperation for Trustworthy ICT: Security, Privacy and Trust in Global Networks & Services. BIC engaged the European Union ICT trust and security research and program management (funding organizations) communities with their peers in India, Brazil, and South Africa and enabled the collaboration with research communities in trust and security already established in the US, Australia, Japan, Korea and Canada established in the concluded INCO-Trust project that Mr. Clarke also coordinated from 2008 - 2010.
Since 2014, he has been coordinator of the EU-India FI-Media project, which is funded by the Delegation of the European Union to India, to facilitate the building of cluster to cluster (C2C) partnerships between the EU and India clusters of research and industry stakeholders related to Future Internet and Digital Media topics.
